The Story
Sagatiba (saga-chi-ba)
The name is the combination of the Nordic suffix ‘ saga’, meaning story and the indigenous Brazilian word ‘tiba’ meaning ‘infinite’. Sagatiba means infinite possibilities.
Sagatiba’s portfolio of premium cachaҫas (ka-sha-sa) blends 500 years of Brazilian tradition with the relentless pursuit of innovation. Sagatiba is made from natural sugarcane cultivated exclusively in Brazil. The sugarcane is pressed within hours of being cut for the freshest juice, and it is this juice that forms the foundation of Sagatiba.
In fact the big difference between Cachaca and rum is that Cachaca is made from fresh cut sugarcane juice and rum is made from molasses after the sugar has been refined.
Sagatiba Pura cachaҫa
Sagatiba Pura’s cutting edge multi-distillation process produces a very pure spirit with the delicate flavour and aroma of fresh cut sugarcane, bringing an exotic and enticing flavour to any cocktail – especially those calling for simple, fresh, ingredients such as fresh fruit juices and herbs. Sagatiba Pura’s unmatched versatility adds the flair of Brazil to the classic Caipirinha and beyond. The possibilities are infinite.
Sagatiba Velha cachaҫa
Sagatiba Velha (pronounced ‘vel-ya’) is for those who like a smooth spirit with character. Authentically hand-crafted in small batches using the traditional copper pot distillation method, it is then laid to rest for at least 2 years in American white oak casks. Ageing allows the full flavour notes and aromas to develop and gives the spirit its golden colour.
